Leave It Be 03:43
There's nothing in this barren town for me, But remnants of the past played on repeat Swarms of apparitions marching through the streets Hear a haunting hymn echo off the concrete Singing, Leave it be Leave it be Leave it be Leave it be Please don't hesitate to go and turn the page There's a world beyond here calling out your name Are we just soldiers in internal wars we wage? Or are we architects of our impending fates? I wish I could leave it be, Leave it be Leave it be Leave it be Follow through on what you're given Don't you know that solitude breeds suspicion? So let your dreary eyes regain their glisten Look around you Take a look around you Look around you Take a look around you

Finger on the pulse, feel no heartbeat Throw me to the wolves razor sharp teeth The stranger in the reflection is not me I'm getting closer I can see it clearer I'm breaking out of the house of mirrors Emerging from out the ashes and the concrete And as I stand here with nothing left to lose, I am digging for the root Finding my way back to myself again In my head, waging internal war Voices going back and forth When will it ever come to an end? Currents of adrenaline in my veins Words I never said linger in my brain Why don't you just come back down to earth? Signals flooded deep into the marrow I'm a skeleton reduced to bare bones Measuring the fragments of his worth Coming up short And as I stand here with nothing left to lose, I am digging for the root Finding my way back to myself again In my head, waging internal war Voices going back and forth When will it ever come to an end?

Paramnesia 02:48
Passed over rolling thunder, Crawling my way out Of this hole I dug 6 feet under In the depths of the ground Searching for some peace of mind You know Im searching for some peace of mind, But it eludes me every time 'Cause its a long way down But it all comes 'round With every passing day we leave some youth behind Tread water in a sea of memories that bares your reflection Torrential downpours of shattered dreams, Send me spiraling in all directions Paramnesia's left me half blind Paramnesia's left me half blind Bargaining with mortality, put all my chips on the table Losing all grip on reality, in blissful woven webs of fables Where all your fears and shortcomings hide Time stands still in the heat of the roaring flame Open your heavy eyes 'Cause its a long way down But it all comes 'round With every passing day we leave some youth behind

AnnaLee 02:35
AnnaLee, I'd rather not know Where you choose to sleep, when your love is runnin' low Just put on a smile, and stay for awhile So we can keep pretending I don't wanna know, I don't wanna know I don't wanna know, I don't wanna know The human heart is a fickle beast Sweet blissful ignorance, how I long to be naive But those days are gone I'd rather be wrong About every gut feeling I don't wanna know, I don't wanna know I don't wanna know, I don't wanna know Though the cost far exceeds its weight in gold The answers can't be bought, but misdirection can be sold Though these eyes have seen enough, to not take fate personal A part of me dies every time you go AnnaLee, I'd rather not know Where you choose to sleep, when your love is runnin' low Just put on a smile, and stay for awhile So we can keep pretending I don't wanna know, I don't wanna know I don't wanna know, I don't wanna know

In my lonely hour, knocking on nostalgia's door Walking a dead end path to nowhere Where uncertainty towers Let you in my mind for a tour But only if you'd like to go there Eleven hundred feet, descend down to the concrete below You said, why don't you come with me? You don't have to walk this earth alone In my lonely hour, as the rain pours down the windshield Memories come flooding back of days That the hands of time devour No vital signs, I can't feel any trace of life in this place Only empty streets, and faint sounds of a sirens echo You said, I think its time we leave This solemn city ain't home Eleven hundred feet, descend down to the concrete below You said, why don't you come with me? You don't have to walk this earth alone

The Gallows 03:55
Treading the waters of lost time The ground beneath began to crumble As silhouettes loom in the skyline Why don't you come back down to earth? Darling you know I would, if you promise me first Don't lead me down to the gallows Don't lead me down to the gallows Though I've racked up quite a debt, For the reaper to collect Don't lead me down to the gallows Searching for answers along the brink Oh, i haven't slept in days And I've had a bit too much to drink I let your love set my soul ablaze Like a ravenous wildfire, that cannot be tamed Don't lead me down to the gallows Don't lead me down to the gallows Though it's the nature of men, to meet their maker in the end Don't lead me down the gallows Floods of nostalgia poured out through the rift And send us both adrift, She turned to me and said Why don't you stay til the morning and lay your heavy head to rest? Well I've been here before, and I know what happens next Don't lead me down to the gallows Don't lead me down to the gallows Though I've racked up quite a debt, For the reaper to collect Don't lead me down to the gallows

Where do we go from here? Walking on a fragile tightrope In this house of mirrors, The illusion implodes Your essence fades and disappears Choirs of mockingbirds and ghosts sing your name A disfigured corpse discarded in vein I found a better way to survive on my own But i still feel your presence pulsing through my bones Past the edge of the cliff, I eagerly throw Myself into the ocean water and drown slow

about

Harvie June is an alias of producer/songwriter/multi-instrumentalist Connor Ashby, also known as CASHBY. The name is a tribute to where the album was written and recorded in Richmond, Virginia, during the years 2017 & 2018 - all performance, writing and recording duties are handled solely by Ashby. "House Of Mirrors" is an introspective exploration of love, loss, and heartbreak- soundtracking the dark nights of the soul that accompany these trials while looking deeply into the eyes of our own reflection.
